The association camera magenta was founded in 1996 by Michaela Göltl and Christa Zauner as a spin-off of a group of artists* based in Vienna and Berlin. The two artists worked in the field of photography and intended to set a new focus in this area.
From the very beginning, the aim of the association has been to take up controversial topics by means of artistic projects in order to point out social inequalities and injustices and to bring them to the attention of a broad public.

Organisation:
Michaela Göltl from 1996 to 2006
Christa Zauner from 1996 to current
Andy Wallenta from 2014 to current
