Old science fiction films combined with an abandoned train line in the former GDR lead to an extraordinary journey into the world of fantasy. The series deals with social cleavages, cultural differences and leaps in time. Between Spock, Captain Kirk and empty, decaying train stations, there is a "time gap" between past and future. The basic principle of the photo series is a collage of images of the "Starship Enterprise" and night shots of obsolete railway lines and railroad cars. Future meets Past, TV meets analogue photography. The clash of nostalgia and utopia produces irritation and creates a longing for both the past and the future.
